Between 8 am and 9 am, numerous G20 leaders made their way to the memorial complex. Here, they gathered around a raised black marble platform that commemorates the location of Gandhi's final rites on January 31, 1948. This platform also includes an eternal flame at one end.

Some of the leaders who honored Mahatma Gandhi included US President Joe Biden, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni, French President Emmanuel Macron, Brazilian President Lula De Silva, and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishia, among others. Additionally, numerous leaders from international organizations, such as World Bank Chief Ajay Banga and UN Secretary-General Guterres, also paid their respects.
